Copper Mountain celebrates Lift Off, the resort's 4th annual Early season festival. Copper kicks off the season right with a free movie tour throughout the village where you can check out the latest ski and snowboard movies to make their debut for 2009. You don't want to miss the Lift Off concert on Saturday night, past performances include Blackalicious, the Beatnuts and Rahzel from the Roots.
USSA Race to the Cup GS/SL - NORAM

The U.S. Snowboarding Race to the Cup series makes three stops each season. Each stop on the tour will consist of two alpine events with $3,000 in prize money at each stop. All races will be scheduled as part of the NorAm series. Athletes must have a current National USSA license and FIS license prior to registering for the Race to the Cup. There will be no onsite USSA or FIS registration at the event.

Copper is offering skiers and riders a free event to work off holiday pounds by competing in the 7th annual Leftover Yam and Jive Turkey Jam at Copper on Friday, November 28, 2008. The jam will take place in the American Eagle Jib Park, located at the top of the American Eagle lift, and is open to both men and women professional and amateur snowboarders and skiers. Join Copper for a New Year’s Disco evening. Burning Stones Plaza will be transformed into the old 54 featuring a live band and a Big Air show put on by the Copper Mountain Freeride Team. Check out the Big Screen with true Studio 54 clips and a spectacular torchlight parade put on by the Copper Ski and Ride School. Copper is the place you want to ring in 2009! You may even get a kiss at midnight.

Burton Snowboards is bringing the largest consumer demo in the snowboard world to Copper Mountain on January 2-4, 2009. This weekend will include free demos of Burton boards, boots and bindings along with the chance to check out new products and interactive experiences from the Super Demo Tour Partners: Volvo, Paul Mitchell, anon optics and R.E.D. Everything is free, so come up to Copper and check it out.

USSA Revolution Tour

The U.S. Snowboarding Revolution Tour is a competition that brings together athletes from across the region to identify the top juniors in that area. Superpipe and slopestyle athletes 13 and older (SBX 15 and older) compete together in an open-class style event. Riders will be ranked overall and within their age classes. Colorado Special Olympics Winter Games

The Special Olympics Winter Games mark the culmination of the winter sports season for the 550 athletes who annually participate in Alpine Skiing, Cross Country skiing, Figure Skating, Snowshoeing and Snowboarding. This season marks the 21st consecutive year Copper Mountain will host the event. Copper is proud to be the official winter training site for all Colorado-based winter Special Olympics athletes as well as the official host resort for the Winter Games through 2010.

Copper has been named the host venue for the largest snowboarding and free ski event on earth - the 2008 and 2009 USASA Nationals. Each year, the top regional finishers are invited to attend the USASA National Championships to compete against some of the best male and female athletes from around the country in slopestyle, superpipe, boardercross, slalom and giant slalom in their quest to become National Champions.
