Loveland City Council to discuss transferring property to developer

The parking garage that some Loveland City Council members a year ago questioned even being part of a downtown revitalization project is the same one they could enable a developer to fund with taxpayer money with a vote on Tuesday.

That parking garage is also the one that caused contention between the city and Larimer County, one of the factors that ultimately led the county to decide to move its offices from downtown Loveland.

The Loveland City Council study session and special meeting will take place at 6:30 p.m. at the municipal building, 500 E. Third St.

The Foundry project, formerly known as the South Catalyst, will fill the space between Cleveland and Lincoln avenues, from First to Third streets. The city purchased the majority of the properties located within the boundaries, and demolished or removed buildings, making the land available for redevelopment.
