GUNBARREL, CO, July 2, 2014: The north Boulder Hampton Inn & Suites built by Brinkman Construction has officially been awarded LEED Gold certification. This makes it one of only two hotels in Colorado to achieve and register Gold status.
Completed in July 2013, the hotel is located at 6333 Lookout Road in Gunbarrel. It is a franchise by owners Boulder Hospitality LLC and McDermid Management Co. LLC. The 69,100 SF, three-story building features a conference room, board room, pool and hot tub area, workout facility and breakfast area. Of the 100 total rooms, 30 are suites. Expansive views of the Flatirons and close proximity to major surrounding businesses add to the appeal of project
Brinkman led the LEED process and worked closely with the ownership group and the Institute for the Built Environment at Colorado State University to integrate sustainable features throughout the hotel. These include an on-demand boiler system, energy recovery units, occupancy sensor lighting, solar paneled roof, a 3-pipe heating/cooling system, triple-paned windows and a non-roof, concrete parking lot.
The Hampton Inn & Suites marks the first new building in the Gunbarrel Gateway Center development. Future plans for the development’s three pad sites directly adjacent to the hotel include restaurant or retail-oriented tenants that would provide even greater amenities for the hotel’s guests.
The project team included Pahl Architecture, Drexel, Barrel & Co., Neuworks Mechanical, Jirsa Hedrick, Studio R Interiors, Group 14 Engineering and Fletemeyer & Lee Associates.
