Construction is underway on FirstBank’s new branch on the corner of Mountain and College avenues, a spot sometimes referred to as “Main and Main” due to its prime Old Town Fort Collins location.
FirstBank bought the building, which had housed Cache Bank & Trust, in May for $1.5 million. Cache Bank consolidated its branches at 4645 Ziegler Road in September to make way for the buildings’ new owner.
The 5,935-square-foot space is getting a full interior renovation, including a skylight running from east to west in the building’s entrance, a meeting room in the basement open to the community, a new entrance on the east side of the building, and high-end finishes.
Vaught Frye Larson Architects of Fort Collins is the architect and Brinkman Construction is doing the remodel work.
Patrick Brady, market president of FirstBank in Northern Colorado, said in September that FirstBank had always wanted to be in Old Town but cited the May launch of MAX bus rapid-transit service, the expansion of Woodward Inc.’s manufacturing and corporate campus, OtterBox’s continued growth, and Colorado State University’s expansion of its engines and energy lab as factors that led to the new site’s development.
FirstBank is investing about $1 million in renovations and upgrades to the site.
