DENVER, CO, November 18, 2013: Fort Collins-based Brinkman Construction was part of a team to accept a regional award for their work on the Drive office building in Denver. Located within the TAXI campus in River North (RiNo), Drive was named a Best Project of 2013 by ENR Mountain States magazine.
Winners were selected by a panel of industry professionals. The regional award included Utah, Idaho, Montana, Colorado, Wyoming, Kansas, Nebraska, North Dakota and South Dakota. Judging was based on design, execution of construction, contribution to the local community and construction industry, innovation, ability to overcome challenges and overall excellence.
The project team awarded included the project’s developer, Zeppelin Development, Inc., project architect Barker Rinker Seacat Architecture and Brinkman Construction as the general contractor.
Drive at TAXI is an innovative, LEED Certified, $8 million project that is made up of a 40,000 SF, four-story office building. Its striking modern design and incorporation of repurposed recycled materials lend to the urban workplace culture seen throughout the campus.
Just a week after the ENR awards, Drive was also named one of 15 2013 Mayor’s Design Award winners. This is an honor given by Denver Mayor Michael Hancock for excellence in architecture, design and place-making that enhances Denver’s cityscape.
Brinkman is currently underway on Zeppelin Development’s follow-up building, Drive II. The $7 million, 51,712 SF office building will mark the seventh building in TAXI. It will encompass many of the innovative features seen throughout the campus including garage-style glass doors, repurposed recycled materials and glass walls and flooring throughout.
Drive II is scheduled for completion in April of 2014.
