Job Opening - Accountant/Compliance Coordinator

Position Summary:

The Accountant/Compliance Coordinator will be an integral part of the construction accounting team and will report to the controller.  This position will assist in general ledger and project accounting.  Additional responsibilities include subcontractor prequalification and insurance compliance tracking.  This position will help to facilitate operational excellence & high performance within the accounting team from both an accounting & operations standpoint.

Location:  Fort Collins, CO

Essential Functions:

  • Record sub and general ledger entries including month-end related adjustments
  • Responsible for month end balance sheet and bank reconciliations
  • Responsible for monthly project billings including review of subcontractor pay applications, compilation of owner billing and collaboration with project managers
  • Assist with Project Managers with project cost reporting
  • Cross train in accounts payable and act as backup for AP Accountant
  • Coordinates collection and tracking of subcontractor safety and financial documentation, assisting Controller and Risk Management Director in prequalification decisions
  • Collects and tracks subcontractor insurance certificates ensuring compliance with company risk management standards
  • Works directly with Warranty Manager to track project warranty information and schedule warranty walks and repairs
  • Enters and codes all warranty related invoices
  • Tracks monthly project safety inspections

Qualifications – Desired Education, Skills and Experience:

  • Construction accounting experience or accounting degree preferred
  • A passion for excellence in customer service
  • Strong communication, time management, organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task and priorities competing priorities
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel
  • Problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to take ownership of projects with high quality results
  • Must have current driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record
